This community has a lot of residential properties as well as the Westfield Topanga and The Village shopping center with Bed Bath & Beyond, the Home Depot, Costco, Macy’s, Target, and other amenities and shops.
The Warner Center contains a mix of companies and industries with a concentration in healthcare, financial services, and professional services. There are approximately 40,000 employees who work within the Warner Center area.

Named after Harry Warner, the eldest of the Warner brothers who have owned the land since the 1940s originally as a horse ranch, donated the 20 acres in 1967 that became Warner Center Park or also known as Warner Ranch Park. The large tracts of Warner Ranch were developed into the Canoga Park portion between Victory Boulevard and Vanowen Avenue. Topanga Plaza opened in 1964 and was the first enclosed shopping mall west of the Mississippi River. Engineering facilities and headquarter offices, as well as aerospace companies, opened thereafter. Over the next 20 years, much of the area was built out including 4300 multifamily dwelling units and millions of square feet of commercial and office space.

Real estate developer Robert Voit develop the Warner Center Business Park and Warner Center Plaza and during the 1990s there was an economic slowdown putting the brakes on new development for the rest of the decade. In the early to thousands, however, a flurry of new multifamily housing projects was built as well as residential homes and upgrades to existing homes.

The Warner Center 2035 plan is designed to anticipate 14,000,000 ft.² of nonresidential building area, an additional 20,000 residential dwelling units, and 49,000 jobs. This development blueprint emphasizes mixed-use and transit-oriented development, walkability, and sustainability.
